Save our Souls.

Together with Kim van Norren we’ll create a duo show in the Hoogkoor the of stunning 15th century Sint-Michaëlskerk in Zwolle. I’ve made a new site-specific work for this occasion. Please join us on the opening on Saturday 7 of may at 16.00. The show will be on view until Sunday 12 June. We will show our work in this special place and take up the exciting challenge of creating a stimulating interaction with each other and the building. The exhibition, entitled ‘S.O.S.’, is free to visit and can be seen every Tuesday until Saturday 11.00 – 17.00.

Six hundred and twenty

The city of Zwolle is growing, changing, demolishing and building. The Langhuis is located in the middle of the city centre. A building that has witnessed this change for six centuries. During the group show “Six hundred and twenty” six artists will explore the meaning of the building together with the public: now and in the future.
With work by: Salim Bayri, Ad De Jong, Vincent Knopper, Brigitte Louter, Dan Perjovschi & Mickey Yang

The exhibition in Kunstruimte het Langhuis can be visited from 19 March to 15 May.

The exhibition Six Hundred Twenty is curated by Timo van Grinsven and Jonathan van Doornum.

There is a strong current coming up

Finally the large commissioned sculpture of mine.  “There is a strong current coming up” has been placed. This large vertical sculpture is the outcome of questions that have occurred during the renovation of the school building of the Viaa in Zwolle. How can form and content relate to each other in this new building? Can identity be made visible in form and color? I have designed and made a sculpture that establishes a link between the new building materials and the various users of it. The sculpture consists of a composition of lines, arrows and representations of human activities that are specific for this building. These particular shapes arise from a spatial construction. The three floors of the building allow you each time you pass by, a different view. If you would like to visit the sculpture, please let me know. I’m willing to give you a private tour during school hours.

Gratitude towards Viaa for making this work possible.
