The sculpture “untitled” from 2018 is a middle way between a white monolith and a large kitchen cupboard. It has a grid which is made out of various blocks and layers. The work consists mainly of white HPL, a facade material that the artist uses more often because of its industrial character. Various specifically shaped handles are placed on the fronts. These handles have no function. The aggressive nature of these handles gives an alienating effect to this work. The threatening message of the letters “Deo Volente” (God being willing) form a contrast with the safe environment in which a kitchen cupboard is usually found. As if the work wants to give a warning; remember, the familiar and pleasant environment of a kitchen can change at any time.
